AI SEARCH
What AI visibility actually means
Understand the difference between discoverability, accurate brand representation and citations in AI-generated answers.
AI visibility is not a single ranking. It involves whether answer engines can locate, understand and sometimes cite reliable information about a business.
Start with entity clarity
Your business name, offering, location or markets and expertise should be consistent across your own pages and reputable third-party profiles.
Make useful answers accessible
Important service explanations and original insights need crawlable HTML, descriptive headings and internal links. Structured data can clarify facts but does not guarantee inclusion.
Test representative questions
Create a stable set of buyer questions and periodically record what different AI-search experiences return. Note which sources are cited and whether facts are accurate.
Measure with limitations
Outputs vary by model, prompt, geography, personalization and time. A citation snapshot is a directional observation, not a fixed market-share measurement.
Prioritize original evidence
Publish genuinely useful examples, research methods, qualifications and documented outcomes when approved. Generic text is easy to reproduce and difficult to differentiate.
Connect discovery to business value
Treat AI-search activity as one part of demand discovery. Where possible, compare branded demand, referral behavior and qualified pipeline without overclaiming attribution.
The takeaway
A sensible program improves the underlying information and observes discoverability; it cannot promise that a specific AI product will mention a brand.
